Spring at the Arboretum

A couple weeks ago, we spent a weekend at my parents' house in Chicago. Our good friends the Freudigmanns went with us (we try to take a weekend with them annually!). We had a great time being with them, spending time with my family, taking in the first glimpse of spring at the Morton Arboretum, and even catching up with some other dear friends (the Vanovers) who live in Chicago. Elinore was so sweet to Kirra, holding her hand and "reading" her books. I had the best fish tacos I've ever tasted at a little pub called Two Brothers. We also were able to celebrate Tobin's birthday with my family (pictures to come).

The funny/yucky moment of the weekend (as far as I can recall) was at the Arboretum. They have these bird houses on poles scattered throughout the grounds. You know how little hands just have to touch everything...well, the poles are covered with grease to keep the squirrels from climbing up them. So Elinore comes running up to me with a handful of grease. Great. How am I supposed to clean that up?!
