A few weeks ago we were able to celebrate Tobin's first birthday with the Bodine side while we were in Chicago. My mom made an adorable owl shaped cake! 
You can see from the following picture why we thought an owl cake might be appropriate. Tobin loves the owl sound and is always making that little hooting face!
Tobin wasn't all that into opening his presents, but he is definitely appreciating them now. He's already gotten some use out of his new bike helmet on the few sunny days we've had. We anticipate many more rides to come this summer!My dad got out his concertina and played happy birthday while we all sang. I think he would really enjoy being the center of attention if I could just get him to sit still for five minutes!
