Layette Set

This is a project I have been working on for a couple months (put on hold a couple times due to Christmas projects). This is a set I made for a new nephew that is due in about a month. I was so excited to find such a beautiful olive green yarn for this. I wish the pictures could convey how soft it is! This is the Garter Stitch Jacket and Booties from Debbie Bliss's book Quick Baby Knits. The sweater pattern was especially nice since it was knit all in one piece!! I'm always glad to be spared some seaming. I used the leftover yarn to make a hat in Susan B Anderson style. I was very happy to find those nice wooden buttons. They almost look burnt around the edges... Just right for a boy. Now we just have to wait to meet him! I'll have to make sure to get a picture of him in his little outfit.
