Vacation

We spent most mornings on the beach until lunchtime. I mostly lounged in the shade with Tobin while Kevin had a blast boogie-boarding and Elinore played with my sisters. We were usually there at low tide which made for some great tidal pools right at our section of the beach. Since Elinore is afraid of the waves anyway, it was great to have a spot just for her to play.

We found lots of great shells, watched crabs peep out of their holes and scurry across the sand, enjoyed the pelicans and osprey diving down into the waves to catch fish, and we even saw dolphins. I was so amazed that we could see them from the beach! One day we even saw a whole pod of them - 10 at least, just swimming along. Very cool!

This is how Tobin spent most of his beach vacation. Dozing in the shade. All of my aunts, my mom, and my sisters took lots of turns holding him which was very helpful.

I think Elinore had the most fun of all. Although a little overwhelmed by the number of people that she didn't really know, she was given lots of attention. She absolutely loved going to the beach. Here she is holding out a "non-stinging" jellyfish to show me. She is still talking about it, and wishing she was still there, I think. When Kevin's parents picked us up from the airport, they asked Elinore what her favorite part of vacation was. She said, "Riley". Riley is my aunt's dog who Elinore was afraid of all week, and just starting to warm up to by the last day.

Jen! First of all, the dutch treats you sent got gobbled up within a few days.

Secondly, I love all the outdoorsiness (yes, I said outdoorsiness) that you and your family participate in. That's how I want to be with my family.

Love the pics!
