I know that sometimes we're a little "out-there" for some of our friends and family. This is probably one of those times.
We've just started experimenting with making some everyday household things in an attempt to be using less chemicals in our home and on ourselves. This is thanks to some inspiration from Kev's brother and fam (who started before us and passed along lots of great recipes - check here), and because my husband who is a visionary (meaning he can get really excited about an idea).
Our best success is deodorant! I found a great recipe here. Basically it is equal parts baking soda and arrowroot powder (I used cornstarch), and then mixing in coconut oil until you get the consistency you want. I dumped the remnants out of a deodorant container and filled it with my mixture. If it comes out softer than you want it, you could always keep it in the fridge. This has been a hot week, and it has been working great! Even Kevin (who needs a good deodorant) thinks it is amazing and is using it. He claims that we're never going back! I think next time I make it I will add some essential oil for scent.

You're such hippies!!! ;)
Gotta love going "natural"!!!
Miss you guys...
Great idea! We're going to try it, even though we consider ourselves on the very low end of the hippie scale.
