Sorry we haven't posted in a while. We just got back from a week long vacation in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was a family reunion of my mom's side of the family. The last time we had a reunion like this was 12 years ago. I was 14! Although we did see many of them at our wedding.
We were able to rent two large cottages next door to each other. The beach was only a 5 minute walk down the road, and there were lots of things to do on the island.

My mom is the oldest of five children (here they all are with my Grandma and Grandpa), so you can imagine all the aunts, uncles, and cousins. Not
everyone could make it, but we were still a large group of 22! It was so nice to be next door and share a few potluck style meals. We sat out on the porches talking or sat around tables playing games.

This photo is from an evening stroll on the beach. The weather was beautiful, as was the beach.

We visited Currituck Lighthouse on one of our mornings, and climbed to the top. There were 214 steps, I believe, and Elinore made it about halfway up by herself before getting carried the rest of the way. What a gorgeous view we had from the top! The Outer Banks is a long, narrow island, so we could see the ocean on one side and the bay on the other. Quite impressive.
