I'm backtracking a bit here. A couple weeks ago we went to Albion to watch my youngest sister Laura graduate from college. Yeah! It was a very long day, but all went well. The weather was beautiful, both children cooperated wonderfully, we were able to celebrate with Laura and her boyfriend Mike, and my grandparents from Florida were able to be there with us. This first photo is of the three sisters. I can't believe we're all full-fledged adults now!
Here is Elinore congratulating Aunt Lou-lou. During the ceremony I had a bag of a few things to help entertain Elinore. One thing I had brought was a couple sheets of stickers and some paper. Elinore likes to just stick them on paper. So she is playing away, and I'm not really paying attention to her. The next thing I know she says, "Mama, I dropped a sticker in my nose." "What?"
"I dropped a sticker in my nose. It hurts, Mama." Great. Kevin and I have her lying on her back in our laps with the bright sun overhead, but we can't see a thing. Kevin is convinced it isn't there, but she keeps complaining that it hurts. I'm envisioning a trip to the doctor's office. We eventually tell her that she is just going to have to wait until we get home, and please don't stick your finger up there anymore.
Then she starts sneezing. After six or seven sneezes, she sneezed it out, all covered in snot. As Elinore says, "Aunt Caity got it right out!"
Elinore has never been the kid to do anything like that. You think it won't happen to you, but I am now convinced that every kid is going to try it once. We have now had a long talk about not sticking anything in our noses or ears. Hopefully this will be enough of a lesson!
While my grandparents were here we were able to get a ladies four generation photo. Here is Grandma Perry (my mom's mom), my mom, me, and Elinore. Do we all look alike? Here is one more funny Elinore thing. I thought watching my sister's graduation was really boring for Elinore, but a couple mornings ago she said, "Mama, watch me graduate." Then she proceeded to walk slowly across the kitchen in a very straight line with her chin held high. It was hilarious.
