Well, I have only ever had an egg with a double yolk two or three times in my life. A week ago I cracked open three in a row. And last night I had another one (all from the same dozen). So crazy!! Yes, that is only one egg in the picture. Kevin and I were so surprised that he did a little research on the internet. He found out that young chickens often lay eggs with double yolks. If you get a lot in a dozen, then it is probably a young flock. If we didn't eat these, both yolks would completely mature. Sadly, though, they would never hatch because the chick needs to puxh off of the other side of the egg to break out, but it would only be able to push off the other chick. So I guess it is better that I make chocolate chip cookies with it.
