Aunt Laura

This past weekend my sister Laura and her boyfriend Mike came for a visit. Laura is a sophomore at Albion College (here in Michigan), and my youngest sister. I was so glad to have her come see us, and to get to know Mike better. We'd only met him once before and it was rather brief. Unfortunately not long after they arrived on Friday night, Mike was taken ill with a nasty case of food poisoning. He was sick all night, and we really felt awful for him. It is bad enough to be sick, but even worse to be sick in someone else's house. When he got back to school he discovered that 12 other guys in his house had all been sick that night with it. We were relieved to discover that we had nothing to do with his being sick!!

Laura was delighted to spend some time with her little niece. We mostly hung around the house although we did venture out to walk a bit along the beach (against a frigid wind). Laura and Mike volunteered to babysit for us so that we could go out Satuday night. Holland High puts on a Vocal Dimensions concert once a year. It is like a small show/jazz choir (about 14 people) that Kevin was in when he was in high school. The show is always very good and very funny. This may have been the funniest one yet.

We were sad to see Laura go, but there is a rumor that she might come live with us this summer... We'll see. Then maybe Mike will come back for another visit and actually feel himself.
