Landscaping
It has been such a surprising spring. We have been eagerly watching all of our new plants (planted in October) start to come up and things are beginning to flower. It is so fun especially since we don't really know what everything is going to look like. Our dogwood, lilac, peonies, chocolate chip joe pye, and ninebark are all blooming, and lots of other things have buds!
Hair
I have realized that having an 8 wk old baby reminds me again about the practicality of shorter hair. I much prefer long hair, but it just doesn't work with tiny hands and keeping it out of their faces. I did this with Elinore when she was about this old, and here we are again. So I decided if I'm going to cut it, I might as well cut enough to donate it. It is bittersweet, but 10" later it sure feels nice and light on my head. I realized I haven't taken a photo yet! I'll have to do that.

Tobin
8 weeks tomorrow, and already moving into 3-6 mo clothes. I hope he slows down or I'll be carrying around a big baby! He's been such a fussy baby, and Elinore was SO easy. Pretty much if he's awake, he's crying. If I carry him or hold him, he seems to do better, but there's a limit to how much I can do that. My mother-in-law thinks he has colic, and maybe he does. In my book that just means "your baby cries a lot and nobody really knows why". I mentioned it to my midwife at my postpartum visit. She suggested that c-section babies tend to be fussier because they don't get the spinal alignment when they are born. She said that she has had c-section moms take their baby to a chiropractor and bring home a totally different kid. We were getting desperate, so we talked it over and scheduled him an appointment. I was nervous about the whole idea, and I tend to be a bit of a skeptic, but it has definitely helped. We took him in for two adjustments and have had some of our best days yet. He has periods now where he can sit in the bouncy seat for half an hour and be content. We can actually enjoy him. It is such a blessing!! Thanks, Dr. Tonya!!

How fun to see the flowers blooming...what a nice reward for all that hard work you did last fall! That's so neat of you that you donated your hair. I really hope the adjustments help Tobin and his fussyness...if you need a break anytime, let me know!
In my case I had an easy baby, a difficult baby and an impossible baby. Seven years later the easy baby is still easy, four years later the difficult one is still difficult and so on. Hope yours continues to get better.
My friend Jess (who is a chiropractor in Australia) would be so gratified by that news. It's amazing how many things about our health and well-being are connected to the alignment of the spine... though when you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. I can't believe how big Ella Bella is getting!! And Tobin is so cute! I wish I could see them and you guys, but I think I'll be in Korea for another year...
Hi Jen,
Cute pic of Tobin above. We're looking forward too meeting him! Also, Eric has a student who wants to donate 22 inches of hair. I told her about how you had done it so she asked me if I could bring it back to the States and do the same. Anything I should know before proceeding? Also, the baby carrier should be done today. We'll see how it turned out.
Ang (and anyone else who wants to donate their hair),
The Locks of Love website (www.locksoflove.org) has all of the requirements for donating hair. The minimum length is 10 inches. What a great cause!
