Christmas in Chicago

This past weekend was spent in Chicago with my family celebrating Christmas together. We had so much fun eating amazing steaks, playing new games, laughing, sledding, enjoying the choirs at church, Elinore taking a little spanish class where my sister works, and much more. One of Elinore's gifts was a little princess costume that my mom bought on Halloween clearance. Elinore loved it and twirled around in it for us. Poor Kevin. I don't think he ever imagined having so much pink in his life. But, when you're a daddy for a little girl, I think it changes you. At least we have a boy on the way to satisfy his "un-pink" ways!
The last few times we've visited my family Elinore has favored my sister Laura, and sort of given Caity the slip (to great offense). Caitlyn has claimed rights to baby #2 instead. She wants to be the favorite aunt to at least one child!! This time I don't know what was different, but it was "Caity, this..." and "Caity, that..." She seems to have moved up in the ranks which made us all laugh quite a bit. Here is Elinore getting a kiss from Aunt Caity.
This is the latest project I am able to post. The Koolhaas Hat I knitted for my mom. It is a beautiful pattern that I found in the Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts magazine. The pattern was challenging at first, but not too bad once I got into the groove. This one may make more appearances in the future.

The final week of Christmas poses to be a little bit crazy for us, but enjoyable none the less. I only have a couple projects to get finished up, so there will be more posting to come.
