Ski Trip

This past weekend we made a trek up north with our good friends Megs and Alan. This is an annual event, and we usually try to incorporate some cross country skiing into the weekend (weather depending). This was the first weekend we both had available after the New Year, so we put it on the calendar with small hopes of being able to ski. This time last year, the snow was done. This late winter was great timing for us.

Megs's parents were such gracious hosts as we crashed into their house toting a toddler and everything that comes with that. They were so much fun, and Elinore was completely entertained. We walked out the garage door, stepped into our skiis, and headed off into the woods. The dry powdery snow was perfect for skiing! You could just glide along! Kevin and Alan made it out three times over the course of the weekend. I only made it out once since the air was a bit too cold for Elinore's tender cheeks. She's such a trooper. I can't wait until she's big enough to strap some skiis on her and have her following along. Right now, I'm grateful for the backpack (I've found an exercise buddy who has been skiing with me about twice a week!).

We tried not to overeat (which always fails miserably), played lots of Farkel and Whonu, and even reenacted one of Elinore's library books (to lots of giggles from everyone).

We had a blast. Thanks, Megs and Alan. We can't wait until next year!!
