We have finally come to the end of Elinore's three-week long birthday celebration. We've had a family party, a friend party, and finally the day with just us yesterday. She has had a great time. She's enjoyed playing with all of her new things, and I've enjoyed watching her dive into new kinds of creative play. We've already played Candyland at least 5 times! Thanks to everyone who helped her celebrate. She loved all the phone calls, emails, gifts, and time so many of you gave. On to another year!
This has been my newest project. I found the idea here. It is all old scraps I had (and one I borrowed). I have been working on it for a couple weeks: tracing and cutting out pieces. Actually stitching them together only took one evening. This is going to be our official birthday banner. It will come out for all the birthdays and be draped across the dining room (just for the extra-special birthday person). It was kind of fun unrolling it the first time. I really had no idea how long it would be. Then to see all of these bits of things I have made, like little memories hanging in the room. I am so happy with how it turned out.

Happy Birthday Elinore! I can't believe she is THREE. I remember reading your blog when you were still expecting... I think I said this last year too: time flies!
I LOVE the banner you made. Such a cute idea, especially for someone who makes a lot of craft/fabric things like you.... what a nice tradition now :)
Jen, you constantly amaze me!! Can't wait to see both birthday girls on Tuesday!
Happy Birthday Elinore!! Thank you for including Mya in celebrating. It sounds like you had a lot of fun with all the parties. I LOVE the banner you made...what a fun idea! It's so cheery and colorful.
The banner turned out great! The colors look really good together too. You'll have to add that to the list of things you make for me over the next 10-15 years...
