Laura and Butterflies

This past weekend my sister Laura came for a visit. She was glad for a break from school and hadn't seen Elinore since Christmas! I have never seen Elinore attach herself to anyone like she did to my sister. She called her "Lou-lou" and cried everytime she left her sight. It was sweet.

Friday night we sat around playing yahtzee and then watched Nanny McPhee (which is just the cutest movie - I totally love it!!). Saturday morning we went for a little hike at DeGraff Nature Center along the boardwalk. In the evening we managed to get tickets to see the Grand Rapids Symphony. The second half featured several choirs and a couple soloists performing Carmina Burana. It was so good. I haven't seen a good orchestra in a long time, and I found myself much inspired to pull out my violin. Have I done that yet?...no.
On Sunday we headed back to Grand Rapids to see the Butterfly exhibit at the Frederik Meijer Gardens. It was great!! So many butterflies, and they have a glass case with all of the cocoons in them, so you can watch some of them "hatching". It was beautiful. The day was nice enough to play outside in the children's garden. It is the kind of cool place that makes even adults want to play.
Our nice weather ended yesterday, and today it is snowing. Yes, snowing. Nothing is sticking, but really...

We had planned to be outside for the sunrise on Easter morning, but...well, we'll see...
